Principal's Message
Dear Pierce Community,
It is my honor and pleasure to welcome our Pierce families to another school year. I am excited and look forward to a rewarding year of new learning year for all students and staff. Our entire Pierce team has been working tirelessly over the summer to prepare the facilities and instructional program for our students. Our most valued resource is our talented, dedicated and caring staff who continue to make this possible each year. I am encouraged and believe that our students share our excitement for a new beginning.
One source of pride is that the Waterford School District is committed and strives to align its resources in support of our mission to inspire, educate and empower our students for their future. As our mission statement indicates, we are committed to high levels of learning for all students while ensuring a positive and nurturing climate that promotes student achievement. To meet this end, we monitor the performance of our students and align curriculum and instruction to match individual student needs. I embrace this mission and resolve to work diligently to support our teachers, staff and parents to translate this commitment into reality for our students.
An additional source of pride at Pierce is our PTO, involved families, parents and community volunteers. Our PTO works with the staff to provide additional classroom support and plan a variety of extracurricular activities and events. Pierce values this partnership and knows the importance of strong school-home relationships in the development and growth of our children. You are invited to volunteer and participate in educational activities and programs as we ensure the academic success of our students. We will use multiple media sources including Blackboard, Facebook, Pierce website and MiStar to provide current announcements of activities, events and calendar updates. We encourage all parents and community members to be involved as we create global future citizens.
I welcome the opportunity to meet you and look forward to our partnership in the continued development of a first class learning community for all learners.
Sincerely,
Kyle Schultz
