Principal's Welcome

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to our Haviland School Family! Every school year I am filled with optimism and potential that each new school year brings.  I hope you that also share these feelings.  We want everyone who walks through the doors of our beautiful building – students, parents, and teachers – to be excited to be here, feel valued, learn at a high level, and collaborate with one another.  Our dedicated staff care deeply about our students and foster an environment of excellence by setting high expectations for learning, utilizing research based strategies, as we strive for continuous improvement.

With that in mind, you are invited to be an active participant in your child’s education.  The Haviland parent community is wonderfully supportive and volunteer countless hours to support our students. We invite you to become an active participant in our school family whether you are a classroom volunteer, a member of the PTA, or participate in special building events. Your contributions are invaluable and we encourage you to be involved! Research on schools communities demonstrates that parent participation in their child’s school has a positive impact on their academic success.

Our partnership between home and school is essential to maximize student learning. We will work together to empower our children with the intellectual, creative, and decision-making skills necessary for them to become academically and socially successful. As your child works to achieve their greatest potential, we very much appreciate the support that parents give their children at home.
