From Superintendent Lindberg: 2020-2021 Academic Year
May 28, 2020

Dear WSD Staff and Parents,

It has been a very trying time, and all of you have risen to the challenge. We have worked as a team and quickly adapted to ensure that our children are engaged in learning. You have shown dedication and resilience; thank you!

We know that many of you are looking ahead and wondering what school will look like in the fall. Please know that our administrative team is researching all the possibilities to find the best fit for our students, staff, families, and community. We anticipate having several versions of plans to accommodate the ever-changing factors regarding COVID-19 in our community. While some districts are releasing their plans now, we have decided to wait to ensure our plans meet the guidelines and expectations set by the State.

Earlier this month, Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced the Return to Learning Advisory Council, a panel of students, parents, educators, administrators, and public health officials that will recommend how to safety, equitably, and efficiently reopen schools for the fall. We are proud to have one of our administrators on this panel and take comfort in knowing our students' needs will be represented.

We will be sending surveys out to staff and parents soon; we would appreciate your feedback.

Thank you, and stay healthy.
