"The Waterford Cyber Academy works for
me because I enjoy the flexibility and ability to create
my own schedule to learn. I would get bored at school
because everyone moved at a slower pace than me. The
curriculum is challenging; it keeps my attention and
focus to learn."
Brandon Max, class of 2012
"It has helped me by letting me do the
work at my own pace. It is a lot of work, but definitely
worth the time and effort. The teachers, mentors, and
classes are excellent."
Brianna Sanchez, class of 2013 |

The Waterford Cyber Academy is a non-traditional public school
without walls that delivers curriculum and instruction virtually
to students. Sixth through twelfth grade school students in
Oakland County, and its
contiguous
counties, can earn their diplomas entirely on-line.
We provide a rewarding and rigorous curriculum that meets the
Michigan Merit Curriculum, NCAA guidelines for Division I and
Division II schools, and is accredited through AdvancED. K-12™
provides curriculum, with more than 130 core, elective, and
advanced placement courses available to the student. The virtual
learning courses are assigned each semester. While students
should be working daily, they can schedule time and a place to
work with no regular daily attendance required.
Highly qualified teachers deliver content, grade work, provide
feedback, and connect with students weekly via email, open
forums, and/or phone. Waterford Cyber Academy mentors provide
weekly contact with students regarding progress and support with
learning. Books and other materials the student needs to
complete the course work is mailed to their homes. Each course
has a regular weekly schedule of assignments and activities,
which include on-line and off-line assignments. Each class takes
approximately one full semester to complete.
